Chef Otsuji 03/02/2009

On Saturday night we attended a beginner sushi making class given by Chef Otsuji. We learned techniques for various rolls and we were allowed make and eat as much sushi as we could handle. It was fun and helped me appreciate the art of sushi making. My favorite was the basic California roll but with real crab and the freshest ingredients. I got to tempura my last roll and it was delicious. Chef Otsuji got fancy as things were winding down and we just watched him work his sushi magic while he plated beautifully arranged and created sushi. YOU are adorable, my friend. Love your BIG blue hoops! I love to eat crab, just you mentioning it makes me want to send my hubby to go get some...but I've never made it, wouldn't know what to do with it if I had it. Looks like a fun night! I don't think I've ever had sushi.

wow, so fun. I LOVE doing fun things like this.

Does it count that I worked for Terriaki Bowl (now Terriaki Sticks) to put myself through college - waking up at 5am to make california rolls with the immitation crab meat? Haha. I tried and tried to like the stuff, but must not have an educated enough pallet. =)
